Support
There are two ways you can support our bid to bring Worldcon to Brisbane in 2028.
Volunteering
Do you have experience in running conventions? Or specialist skills such as marketing, IT, or fundraising? We are currently looking for a number of volunteers to assist with our bid. While you don’t need to have run a convention before, we’re looking for enthusiastic people to join our team. Please register as a volunteer using our email newsletter sign up form below, and we’ll be in touch once we’ve set up our teams.
Pre-support
Our bid needs financial supporters in order to bring Worldcon to Brisbane. If we are successful with the bid, we receive the voting fee as the conventions initial startup capital, but until that point we rely on support from people like you. With your pre-support, you are helping us in many ways include (but not limited to) running fan tables, printing flyers, buying table material, purchasing advertising at local, regional and international conventions, and, of course, throwing parties.
We have two basic levels of pre-support:

We also have three levels of pre-support which give you a fully paid attending membership to Brisbane in 28 should we win. Because of how Worldcon Memberships are organised, this does not include the required WSFS Membership which will need to be purchased separately once Brisbane has secured the bid.

Note: MacGuffins Australia Limited is the umbrella company the bid is running under. All general donations currently go through MacGuffins.
